On Sunday 2 December 2018, Apostle S Mogane visited the congregation of Gezina.

Gezina is one of four congregations of the Pretoria North District. The Apostle invited all Sunday School Children, their parents and Sunday School teachers of the district to Gezina, to be part of the morning divine service and for them to be together as a district for the Sunday School Service and the Confirmands Valedictory that followed.

The beginner recorder players also rendered two musical pieces before the service and a musical piece with the call-up.

For the Sunday Service, the first Sunday of Advent, the Apostle used the Bible Word from Isaiah 9:2, “The people who walked in darkness have seen a great light; those who dwelt in the land of the shadow of death, upon them a light shined”. The District Rector A Smal was called to serve along.

In the divine service,  Priest G Van De Venter from Gezina and Deacon T Lamprecht from Sinoville, were also placed into well-deserved retirement.

After the morning service, there was great excitement amongst the children in anticipation of the District Sunday School Service, also conducted by Apostle S Mogane. The Apostle used the Bible word from Romans 12:21, “Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good”. Priest M Mollentze was called to serve along.

The Confirmation Valedictory followed, which the Apostle also attended. Wonderful words of appreciation, gratitude and encouragement for the future were presented by representatives of the confirmands, teachers, parents and the young people's leader, whereafter each confirmand received a certificate. The Apostle concluded the proceedings with a prayer. Thereafter, refreshments were served and a few moments of fellowship shared to savour the moment.
