A most blessed weekend was experienced in Newcastle on 19 and 20 October 2019, with the visit of
Apostle A Page to the area. The Apostle’s visit coincided with the retirement of the District Rector, District Evangelist Nico Venter.
The festivities started on Saturday, 19 October 2019, with a choral by the Mpumalanga choir, led by the retired Bishop Fakude, which travelled all the way from Nelspruit. What an experience! The choral rendition left the audience with “goose bumps” and an immense excitement for the divine service the next day.
On Sunday, 20 October 2019, Apostle A Page conducted a divine service in Newcastle Congregation. Members from the congregations of Osizweni and Dundee were invited to attend the divine service. The Bishop Mabaso of the Mpumalanga bishop area was invited to the divine service, as well as the district rectors of the Durban area. The Bishop Mabaso served along with Apostle Page.
A number of souls were sealed with the gift of the Holy Spirit during the divine service. In addition, the District Rector of the Newcastle District, District Evangelist Nico Venter was placed into retirement, after 35 years of serving as a minister in the work of God. No District Rector was appointed to replace the retired District Evangelist Venter. Going forward, the Bishop Shabangu will be responsible for the Newcastle District.
