On 11 November 2018, Apostle Page visited Bethlehem Congregation, in the eastern Free State province.
For this divine service, the Apostle used the Bible word Luke 8:21 – “But he answered and said to them, ‘My mother and My brothers are these who hear the word of God and do it.’”
The Apostle commenced the divine service by reflecting on the after-text choir hymn – “Thou gavest once a promise”, which ends with 'Child, I’ll abide with thee'. The Apostle stated that God is ever present and never leaves us; He always abides with us. He further mentioned that we are one big family in the congregation and that we should listen to the word of God and just do it.
Two servants of God were placed into retirement by the Apostle, the Shepherd Weedon O’ Donovan who had served as the Rector of Bethlehem and in the ministry for a total of 38 years. He served in a few congregations such as Welkom, Odendaalsrus, Pretoria, Port Elizabeth and lastly, as the Rector from 2013 in the Bethlehem Congregation.
The Evangelist Percy Hillis was also placed into early retirement due to ill health; the Evangelist served 26 years in the ministry and served only in the Bethlehem congregation. The Apostle thanked these two servants of God for their part in the Lord’s work and the sacrifices they made. The Apostle also asked them to remain examples and also asked the congregation to still respect them, even though they were retiring.
A new rector for Bethlehem was appointed, the Priest De Wet Bosman. Apostle Page thanked the Priest for accepting this responsibility and asked the congregation to hold his hands up high and support him.
