The divine service conducted by District Apostle Barnes in Somerset West served as preparation for the coming Chief Apostle Service.

The service took place on 18 October 2015. Lots of preparation went into the highly anticipated service and the excitement could be felt through the music of the orchestra, children’s and adult choir.
The member’s hearts were warmed by the presence of the District Apostle and the accompanying Apostles. The text word, which was taken out of Romans 9:33, was the platform for a blessed divine service. The District Apostle spoke directly to each heart and soul. The message was for us to forgive, grow, overcome our stumbling blocks and strive together in God’s work.
The Apostle De Vries and Bishop Fisher were also called to serve. The two Rector helpers of the congregation were called upon to receive Holy Communion on behalf of the departed.
After service the District Apostle read out a letter announcing the appointment of the District Apostle Helper John Kriel. Bishop Lambert and District Elder Worship will also be ordained as Apostles. These ordinations will take place on 13 December when the Chief Apostle conducts a divine service in Tafelsig.
