For the congregation of Gordon’s Bay Sunday, 1 February 2015 was a wonderful culmination of three special divine services.
After the AVT service conducted by our Chief Apostle Jean-Luc Schneider on Sunday, 25 January 2015, they were served by their local Apostle Matthew Arendse on Wednesday, 28 January 2015 and on Sunday, 1 February 2015 by our District Apostle Noel Barnes. As some of the senior members remarked, it was “never in our life time” and “once in a life time experience”. The congregation adopted the maxim “extra-ordinary blessings, requires extra-ordinary sacrifices”. Thus, with joy the choir, Sunday School children and ministers started activities early in the new year. Preparations reached a climax on Saturday, 31 January 2015 when the congregation gathered at church to prepare the hall and enjoy fellowship together.
Our District Apostle spoke like a father to the congregants by using Colossians 1:28 as foundation. He encouraged them to always preach Jesus Christ in how He sacrificed for us, prepares His Kingdom for us and will return to fetch us. The singing of the children, choir and orchestra further contributed to a most blessed experience for all in the house of God. The serving for the departed, rounded off by a female quartet rendition of “No night there” stirred the hearts and souls of all present.Too soon it was time to go home.
