It was just over ten years since the last visit of District Apostle N Barnes to the congregation of Drakenstein South when he conducted a divine service there on Wednesday 7 January 2015.
The excitement amongst the children of God was great, which resulted in contagious joy.
Before entering the building the district apostle was met by the Sunday school choir singing “O, how I love Jesus”. In his interaction with them, he asked them how they give expression to their love for Jesus in their daily lives. There were some interesting answers.
The sermon was based on 1 Peter 4:12&13 “Beloved, do not think it strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened to you; but rejoice to the extent that you partake of Christ’s sufferings, that when His glory is revealed, you may also be glad with exceeding joy.” The congregation was encouraged to seek the Lord faithfully and remain joyful under all circumstances like Paul did amid all the fiery trails he had to endure.
Upon conclusion of the service the entire congregation was invited for some snacks. Much to the delight of the brothers and sisters, the district apostle joined them and interacted in conversation with those present.
