The visit of District Apostle J. Kriel to Walvis Bay was special in many ways.
The District of Walvis Bay was invited to the divine service where they witnessed the silver wedding anniversary blessing of District Elder Taylor and his wife. The venue for the service was Swakopmund Sports Centre, and it took place on Saturday 11 February which added to the joy of this unique encounter.
The Bible word for the divine service was taken out of Daniel 3:17-18, “If that is the case, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and He will deliver us from your hand, O king”. But if not, let it be known to you, O king, that we do not serve your gods, nor will we worship the gold image which you have set up”. Bishops Liwakala and Masule also had the opportunity to express their thoughts.
After the celebration of Holy Communion, District Elder Taylor and his wife were called to receive their silver wedding anniversary blessing. The District Apostle told the couple that serving God does not mean sacrificing quality time with your loved ones, because together we can all be happy in serving God.
