On Wednesday, 2 November 2016, District Apostle NE Barnes, along with the District Apostle Helper J Kriel, paid a surprise visit to Matroosfontein Congregation.

Joy radiated on the faces of those present as the District Apostle made his way to the altar while the congregation sang the opening hymn. Members were expecting the Apostle M Arendse to conduct the mid-week divine service in preparation for the Service for the Departed.

As basis for the divine service, the District Apostle read a Bible word from Isaiah 55:1 (portion), "Everyone who thirsts, come to the waters..."
The District Apostle encouraged the members to continue interceding on behalf of their neighbour, here on earth and those in the beyond.
The Apostles Kriel and Arendse were called to serve along. There was great joy after the divine service, and this served as a perfect preparation for the service for the Departed.
