On Saturday morning 6 June 2015 at 10:00, members of the Franschhoek congregation went to a squatters’ settlement, named Tsjotsjombeni where they served more than 50 children with soup and bread.
The community was overwhelmed by this act of kindness. They could not believe that there were people who cared for others without expecting anything in return. One parent mentioned that everything today had a price. . . . The expression on the faces of these children was something to behold. The members felt good to have been able to make a difference in the lives of others. Sharing a bowl of soup they said felt as if they were healing a world.
