A two-day Rich in Christ Concert was hosted by Kathu on Saturday, 21 September 2019, and in Vryburg 22 September 2019.

The choir and orchestra comprised of members from Kimberley, Bloemfontein, Kathu, Vryburg, Virginia, North West Region, Welkom, and the Vaalharts Region.

Prior to the concert in Kathu, the Rector, Priest Alfred April organized that musicians entertain shoppers at the Kathu Village Mall. It was an amazing experience and filled hearts with joyful songs.

Kathu hosted the concert at Kathu Primary School and Vryburg hosted the concert at the Vryburg Theatre. The presentation of various segments were well received by all in attendance. The Sunday School children from these respective regions performed at these concerts by singing beautiful children’s hymns that brought a tear to the eye.

The choir members spent the night in Kathu and attended the Sunday divine service in Kathu Congregation. The orchestra members travelled to Vryburg to spend the night and attended the Sunday divine service in Vryburg Congregation, where they were later joined by the choir members for the concert in Vryburg, later the afternoon.

Priest Andrew Loubsher was the programme director for Kathu and the District Rector, District Evangelist Andre Fielies was the programme director in Vryburg.

The Rector opened the proceedings with a prayer and welcomed everyone in Kathu, and Bishop Edward Bhana attended the concert in Vryburg, where he opened with a prayer and welcomed everybody. An opening hymn was sung by the audience in order to participate in the concert.

The audience was thanked for supporting the concert, as well as their presence at the respective venues. All proceeds will be used for music development in the Kimberley Apostle Area. The musicians and Sunday School children were thanked for the beautiful and inspiring musical items they presented.

The concerts were concluded with a closing hymn that was sung by everybody who attended and closed with prayer.
