On 13 January 2019, District Apostle J Kriel conducted a Sunday School service in Ennerdale wherein he launched the 2019 ‘Year of the Child’ theme: Nurture the Child.

He was accompanied by the local Apostle S Mogane and the visiting Apostle L Meyer from Mpumalanga.

His visit also marked the opening of the Sunday School year and all the children across the area helped in cleaning and preparing their place of worship, assisted with the task of greeting and ushering of members into the hall as well as rendering the music programme for the divine service.

The Bible word for the divine service was taken from 1 Timothy 6:18 “Let them do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to give, willing to share."

The beautiful music renditions by the Sunday School choir and the recorder ensemble added to the joy and blessedness of the divine service.

After the divine service, the Sunday School teachers for 2019 were introduced to the congregation and the District Apostle expressed his sincere gratitude to them for their support and continued contribution to the spiritual well-being of each child. After the congregation had greeted, the children gathered for a group photo with the District Apostle before going to their respective classes for orientation, to meet their new teacher and to receive workbooks for the year. Their parents also joined them in class to meet with the teachers and to enjoy moments of fellowship

Before leaving, the District Apostle took time to greet and interact with guests from a local orphanage who were specially invited by the neighbouring Orange Farm Sunday School to attend the service. Every guest left with a gift of stationery and supplies from the Sunday School to begin their academic year.
