On Thursday 9 March in Silvertown congregation, District Apostle John Kriel, in conjunction with the Youth Committee, held a meeting for all youth, parents and confirmands of 2017 and 2018. This meeting was audio visually transmitted to all countries within Southern Africa.

District Apostle Kriel opened proceedings with a prayer and welcomed all the confirmands, wishing them well for their preparation leading up to their confirmation. He also mentioned upcoming events. The Dragon Boat Regatta will be taking place on 17 April. On 7 May the new youth will experience their first youth service and in 2019, an International Youth Convention will be taking place in Dusseldorf, Germany.

The District Apostle then made a very big announcement. Chief Apostle Jean-Luc Schneider will be visiting Cape Town and he will hold a massive youth service at Cape Town Stadium! After this announcement the Silvertown auditorium was buzzing with excitement.

All youth in Southern Africa are invited to this event. This includes youth that will be confirmed in 2017 and 2018, all ministers, young married couples and young parents. All youth are also welcome to invite their friends.

The tickets will be available at Computicket from 1 September 2017 at R100 each. This fee includes entry into Cape Town Stadium for the divine service, a t-shirt, sun visor and a lanyard. All those who plan to attend the event will need to register. The registration process is extremely important and closes on 31 August 2017. In this regard, the Youth Committee will send out further information in the near future.

The District Apostle also informed those in attendance that the newly formed District Church will have a new youth theme, logo and motto. All youth are encouraged to enter a competition to create the theme, motto and design of a logo. The individual that designs the winning entry will be awarded a special prize.

Apostle Jeremiah Joubert was then introduced as the new chairperson of the NAC Southern Africa Youth Committee. Everyone will be able to meet the Apostle on 17 April 2017 at the annual Dragon Boat Regatta.

The meeting concluded with everyone singing “Give me joy in my heart”. The youth now wait in great anticipation to be served by Chief Apostle on 18 February 2018.
