It was 04h30, more than two hours before sunrise that the members of Ermelo, one of 20 districts, from the region and the neighbouring country Swaziland, made their way to the Communio Hall in Nelspruit, where the chief apostle was due to conduct the divine service on Friday, 24 February 2017.
It is the first time that Chief Apostle J-L Schneider visits Nelspruit to see the members face-to-face. The city of Nelspruit these days go by the name of Mbombela, a siSwati name meaning "a lot of people in a small space".
It was indeed a lot of people that were abuzz with excitement that started to fill the divine service venue with smiling faces. By 08h45 more than an hour before the scheduled 10h00 start of the service the full house sign went up. The day has finally arrived and understandably the members were overjoyed to have the chief apostle all to themselves.
As foundation for the service the chief apostle used the Bible word out of John 13: 7: Jesus answered and said to him, "What I am doing you do not understand now, but you will know after this."
The chief apostle commenced the divine service by describing what our joy consists of:
• We are children of God - That makes us joint heirs with Christ;
• Our Father is the almighty God - He loves us and wants to give us this wealth
This makes us joyful for being children of God as we will be recipients of this heritage, mainly fellowship with Him and Jesus Christ, the Chief Apostle continued.
Expounding on the Bible word the chief apostle noted several thoughts to anchor the theme of the service: Faith now, understanding later!
